Wine Cellar & Tasting Room

“Wine Cellar and Tasting Room”

When designing plans for an Sunroom addition where in the initial phase, a slopped back yard gave way to this additional Wine Cellar and Sitting Area.  Excavating the yard and cutting out through a section of the basement’s foundation wall meant adding even more square footage to the existing basement.   An already impressive entertaining space previously renovated and designed by i3c Solutions.  When first discussing the plans for the initial Basement Renovation previously done, the idea of a Wine Cellar came up, and converting a corner bedroom into a sealed cellar seemed like the best spot for this.

However, with further research and discussing with wine experts this turned out to be a poor spot due to the Theater Rooms location.  Discovering nothing worse for wine is also vibration, apparently just as bad as heat.  With the new addition came an opportunity now for the Wine Cellar and Tasting/Silting Room.  .

So now with this new “Home Addition” came “new” possibilities.   Dividing the new available space into a Wine Cellar and Tasting/Sitting Room opening off the Pool Table section created an amazing distant view of the Custom Curved Wine Cellar doors.  Beautifully hand crafted in Mexico, and picked up from a supplier in Arizona, these Wine Cellar Doors were designed by Cindy Mirza from i3c Solutions, having unique and personal details in the wood and iron work of both window and door panels.  Worthy of wine enthusiasts everywhere.  Sourcing a wine server in the tasting and sitting area with matching details pulled both areas together and looked as though they were made by the same craftsman.

The isolated bedroom that sadly during the first renovation couldn’t be converted to a Wine Cellar, was easily forgotten about now.  A Standing Wine Cooler and pub set, with Fleur De Lis carved chair backs and a floral octagon shaped table top, and a small wine server cabinet, that was the next best thing at the time.  Although not forgotten it was definitely overshadowed by the new dedicated “Wine Area”.
