“Nursery Room”
Along with this large renovation project came the delightful news of another “new addition”. So came the need to re-purpose an existing “Jack & Jill” bedroom into a nursery. Since the addition was along the backside of the house a bedroom window needed to be relocated to an exterior wall. The window placement before contributed to the room having an awkward flow, and it dictated the bed placement right near the bathroom entrance. Changing its location gave a much nicer flow and even better site lines, also making the room appear larger. The room having more diffused sunlight now, would make it easier for little ones to sleep.
Halfway through the project and news a “girl” was on her way, a fitting color scheme of soft soothing pink, georgian green and neutral beige complemented the nursery’s “Nesting Theme”. An intricate Glenna Jean wallpaper border positioned near the ceiling made the room look sophisticated and not childish. Little bird decals would surely give a new baby girl plenty to look up upon and dream about. Keeping walls neutral would mean no trendy colors to paint out later on while she was growing up. An inviting wingback chair neutral even for dad, would also be utilized for many years, not only as a nursing chair but for cozying up in while listening to future bedtime story sessions. A french inspired lamp with a beautifully inner lined shade, that when lit up shows a pretty shadow scene on surrounding walls. A dreamy night light like no other.
Nursery furniture fit for a princess, a crib that converts into a daybed, then into a bed frame of royal proportions, an investment well worth it. In the meantime matching beautiful Glenna Jean bedding remind us of the precious bundle of joy that would soon follow. A renovation complete and a new start in life’s journey, both well received.
