Home Staging

“Home Staging & Decorating”

Staging often means taking ones personal taste out of a room, making the space more appealing to many people and to more potential buyers.  Once labeled the “African Bedroom”, full of literal pieces like giraffes and elephants, we made this spare bedroom a more inviting retreat for all and not a safari excursion.

Not a costly adventure, keeping the furniture pieces, the bedding, and only swapping out the artwork, lampshades and decor in a tone of soothing browns, blues and viridian greens.   A long window bench seat, corner chair and table will make any overnight visitor feel right at home, helping buyers imagining themselves or their guests in the space will surely close the sale.

Tying in adjoining spaces or rooms with a similar color schemes, and even some similar decor pieces give the impression of flow and cohesiveness.  In todays market choosing to buy one home over another sometimes is all about that feeling or flow it had, so paying attention to this can be very important when selling.

An old office location now converted back into a usable and originally intended spare bedroom.   A trundle daybed for extra guests or simply a place to pause and take a short nap during the day.  Matching box store wardrobes make perfect linen closets needed in this large scale home.  Having its own balcony with views of a fountain nestled in the middle of a beautifully backdropped foliaged private front yard. And somewhat inspired from an old classic movie “The Secret Garden”, muted nature tones and multi textured soft furnishings adorn the space.  A writing desk one can imagine Margaret O’Brien herself possibly compiling her memoirs and reflecting back on the very story that inspired the feel and tone of this room, an nice place to escape from life even for a brief moment.
